Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo

The Burchfield Penney Art Center holds the largest public collection of works by Charles E. Burchfield (1893–1967), as well as an archive of more than 10,000 pages of handwritten journals, 25,000 drawings, and other ephemera, including a scale re-creation of the artist’s studio.

The Museum Store

The Museum Store at the Burchfield Penney Art Center is a place to discover one-of-a-kind gifts by local artisans, artist reproductions, as well as merchandise that celebrates Buffalo, Western New York and Charles E. Burchfield.

Hours + Admissions

Adults: $10 / Seniors (62 & over): $8 / Students (with ID): $5 / Children age 10 & under: FREE. The Center is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Independence Day.

M&T Second Fridays

On the second Friday of every month, admission is free and we're open until 8:00 p.m. for special events, music, workshops, happy hours, and more!

Location + Parking

The Center is located at 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo NY 14222, on the campus of Buffalo State College. Parking is provided by Buffalo State College in the lot directly in front of the Burchfield Penney Art Center (Lot R-3), and is FREE on the weekend.

On weekdays from 7am-7pm use the pay station in the lot and place the receipt face up on your dashboard. There is a maximum of 2 hours; please note the pay station accept only coins or Visa / MasterCard. The parking fee is $1 per hour.

The center cannot waive or assist you with a parking violation. Please contact the Buffalo State College Parking Services office at 716-878-3041.

Motor coaches and school buses may park at the rear of the Burchfield Penney lot. Pre-arrangements must be made. For information on group and school tours, call (716) 878-3156.
