Zetti’s Pizza and Pasta is back in business – less than two weeks after the state closed the Amherst restaurant for nonpayment of taxes.
James T. Rindfleisch, a representative with the private firm that has worked with Zetti’s owner John Fusco on his financial matters, confirmed the reopening late Tuesday.
Rindfleisch did not provide further comment when asked what arrangements Fusco had made to resolve his tax issues .
Tax agents from the state Department of Taxation and Finance on Sept. 7 seized the restaurant at Maple and Flint roads .
It was the second time in seven months the department had shut down Zetti’s. The restaurant had remained closed for a couple of weeks in February following the initial seizure.

Public records show Zetti’s has owed tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid sales tax and state unemployment insurance contributions and interest. Fusco has also faced federal tax liens.
Rindfleisch previously told The Buffalo News that Fusco had been making progress on a problem largely rooted in bookkeeping issues .
A department spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday morning.
